Leadership, Mission & Beliefs That Guide Every Step

Leadership, mission and beliefs shape every part of worship, teaching and ministry. Leaders follow Scripture to guide decisions, instruct others, and oversee activities. Every ministry is rooted in biblical principles, giving clarity and purpose to actions and priorities. Leadership focuses on upholding God’s word, modeling faithful service, and following the example of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture is the foundation for all teaching and decision-making. The Great Commandment calls for love for God and neighbor. The Great Commission directs discipleship, baptism, and teaching obedience to God’s word. These passages guide every ministry and help keep teaching, worship, and leadership grounded in biblical truth. Understanding this purpose and vision shows the principles that shape leadership and ministry.

Purpose Statement

At ISBC, we strive to give the Lord God glory, in the name of Jesus, and through the power of the Holy Spirit. We define our existence, ministry, discipleship, missiology, and worship on 2 verses:

The Great Commandment

Matthew 22(ESV)

34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them,  “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,  baptizing them inname of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
