Deacons are servants. Nothing more. Nothing less. The biblical role of deacon is defined in Holy Scripture and is made manifest in the local church as men are identified and set apart for specific service within that local body so that the church can function in a manner worthy of the One who calls us out.
At ISBC, we have been blessed to discover a number of men who are biblically qualified and called to serve our body. These men have been vetted by our Pastoral staff and Deacon leadership and merely await the church's vote of affirmation. They will be presented to the church on Sunday, February 7, 2021 and the church will vote on Sunday, February 14, 2021.
We are making it possible for members of ISBC to vote in one of three ways:
- Filling out a ballot, in-person, signing and turning it in during worship services on the morning of Sunday, February 14.
- Reviewing the candidates online at ISBC.org/serve/deacons, downloading a ballot, filling it out, signing it and emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
- Calling the church office (423-323-2187) during normal business hours (Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM; Friday 8:30 AM - Noon) by end of business on Wednesday, February 17, and providing a voice vote of affirmation for the deacons of choice.
Scroll down this page to view/download the ballot.
All ballots not received from a valid email of a member of ISBC, must have the signature of a voting member of ISBC to count.
